For a 31 year old, Lorenz Prichard aka P.Smurf has an admirably rich, extensive history working within the Australian music industry. Boasting 10 years experience co-managing the renowned Big Village Records, plus event/touring company Freshly Squeezed; Lorenz has earned a place amongst Australian Hip-Hop legends with more than just his music.
Looking to the future, a fresh merger is in full effect with Mark Alexander-Erber (Golden Robot Records) announcing the launch of their new independent label; Scratches Records. Based in Sydney, Scratches Records was also the name of Lorenz parent’s record store, situated on King Street, Newtown from 1982-1993. The story unfolds in 2019 with the rebirth of the Scratches name as their Son’s independent Hip-Hop label.
As label manager, Lorenz aims to cultivate socially conscious, hard hitting, high quality music from the world of underground Hip Hop, Grime, Bass, Electro and Soul. Scratches showcases primarily local, but also interstate and international artists, and offers a team of creatives including videographers, photographers, graphic/digital artists, PR & social media, website design and more, plus promises of exciting new ventures not only involving artist releases, but also creating a cross cultural pollination via workshops, tours, events, parties, and an apparel line.
